Finding the perfect roommate is like looking for a needle in a haystack, a perfect roommate is almost impossible to find. Sharing the same apartment never works because roommates will fight over the smallest matters until they are forced to split. You are better off living alone then sharing a room with a combative and miserable individual. But if the landlord is ready to go to court and get an eviction order, you must act quickly or you will be homeless and have to sleep in the parking lot. If you must have a roommate out of necessity, you have to change your mindset and learn to adjust to a bitter reality. The first thing that you should do is examine yourself, and be honest about the results. You most likely will find that you are a greedy and selfish person that has little concern for the welfare of others. The results may shock you and be difficult to accept, but for the sake of sanity they must be accepted. Now that you have finally made this self discovery and know yourself you will be in the position to find a roommate that you will be compatible with.
Being able to compromise is a necessity if you want to get along with a roommate. This is always true if you are a greedy and selfish person. No sane person will be able to accept living with a person that is so self-centered that they leave no space for another to dwell in. Without rules to rely on two self-centered and greedy roommates will find themselves in a dilemma and unless a way is found to get along they will both wind up sleeping in the parking lot Before you have anybody move in you have to clearly lay out what the rules are. If agreed on and followed you will have found yourself a roommate.


Rules are no different than a fence. They are built to keep humans or animals in their place. But there is no guarantee that rules or fences will be respected and both are usually ignored by hungry animals or greedy humans. Setting up rules to follow between two self-centered and greedy roommates is as futile as telling a wild animal which part of the forest it will be allowed to roam in. It is obvious that a master and slave relationship has to be applied if the roommates are going to get along. They will have to keep fighting until one weakens and pleads for peace. The winner will be the master and the loser will become the slave. The end result will be two compatible roommates that don’t have to sleep in a parking lot.
