Often women are afraid of exploring this world of network marketing and home-based business. While some think of these as get rich schemes, it is rare to make large amounts of money without an investment of time, energy, money, and personal skills development. You are limited only by your own efforts and your willingness to develop your own unique talents and skills. Entrepreneurial leaders begin from all types of backgrounds, at different ages, and with varied motivations and goals. Some want to stay at home to raise their children, help a relative in need, or just want to be in control of their own time and activities.

As an educator by profession, many expected me to want to work with children even in my off hours. So, my primary reason for going into a part time business was to spend more time and contact with adults. Developing a home based business gave me three things. First, I was pleasantly surprised that I not only made new friends and acquired a basic knowledge and understanding of business principals; in addition, I earned enough extra money to send my husband on his dream trip to the Middle East as a graduation from University, all of this after only six months in the business; I then was impressed by caring leaders who encouraged each of us to not only acquire business knowledge, but work on our own personal development.

When considering entering a business, you should make a list of things that you are passionate about or highly interested in. Investigate the products and services of different businesses in these fields. Do research, try their products and services. See if you would be comfortable with the products, services and leadership. Listen to the opportunities and ask about their training and support services for those in the business. Talk to those who are successful within the group. Ask questions about concerns you have.

Good, ethical leaders will be honest, sincere, and care about you, not just making a profit. They will show you the advantages and problems you might face. They will respect your needs and goals, and work along side you to encourage your development and business. They will expect you to help those you bring into the business to be as successful as you, as part of the process of becoming a great leader.

When you decide to join an organization, listen and learn, become inspired and motivated, give it your best. Always look at your efforts and their results. What have you learned from them? Look at mistakes and occasional failures as your best learning experiences. Build on those lessons and go forward to make your dreams come true. They will be examples to help others when they are following you in this exciting business.
