The Gift Of Spiritual Awareness & Transformation

Before you are able to receive the gift of spiritual awareness and transformation you must examine its attributes. It would be wise to examine each of the following: spiritual awareness, spiritual transformation, and spiritual gifts.

Spiritual awareness is what enables us to experience oneness which can be ecstatic and the most fulfilling passion of all. It is about being mindful of spiritual Truths and transcending the darkness of your personal reality (a manifestation of your beliefs) into the light of The One Truthful Reality which is common to All.

Spiritual awareness or spiritual awakening is the process by which we begin to explore our own being in order to become whole and reunite our spirits with our physical bodies in a commonality of purpose. To be more concise, spirituality is about consciousness, which in turn is everything we experience.

Spiritual awareness is vital for us today because we must remember that we are spiritual beings first and foremost, and that as spiritual beings we are undergoing a physical experience in physical dense or flesh body.

Spiritual transformation cannot occur without the Grace of the Holy Spirit. It is your journey of self-discovery into your divine inheritance as a child of God. Therefore, it takes place through our longings and is a process of discovery of the self.

This takes place in relationship to the God who is the infinite source of truth, goodness, and beauty. A transformation occurs as we enter into Jesus' way of life in his stance toward the Father directed by the Spirit. Therefore, it must be embodied, relational, and communal.

Spiritual gifts do not depend on natural talents and aptitudes or developed skills. These gifts intertwine the Divine and the Human and are 'spiritual' in nature for they are given by the Holy Spirit to every believer (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

They are "charismatic" -- gifts of grace and are not abilities given to do something for yourself, alone. They are God's empowerment of God's people for His work. They are tools given to believers to do the work of the world - to fulfill the Great Commission to reach, teach and to minister to one another.

These gifts are to be used out of love and in service to others. Your spiritual gifts should be discovered, developed and used freely and willingly. They are special abilities, or divine enablements, given to you to make your unique contribution. They represent intelligences that can assist our ascent through the spiritual levels and the breadth of our compassion for others.

Spiritual gifts are normally divided into four areas: people gifts, speaking gifts, serving gifts, and sign gifts. They are given to all believers by the Holy Spirit (Romans 12:3, 6) at the time they place their faith in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins.

The gifts include: a word of wisdom, a word of knowledge, faith, workings of power, a prophecy, discernment of spirits, kinds of tongues, an interpretation of tongues. They come along when we need some additional help to do that which God places before us.
