Do you feel like your life is going nowhere, whether because of your job, your relationship, or perhaps for no particular reason you can put your finger on? Feeling "stuck" is a common emotion that can stem from:
• Goals you'd like to achieve, but don't know how to • Falling into a routine, and not knowing how to change it • Relationships that are no longer fulfilling If you simply fantasize about how great it is going to be to have what you want, but you don’t take action, you are engaging in “magical thinking.” When you let go of fantasy and take action to achieve your goals, you deal with what is actually here now and take the appropriate actions to bring what you want to you. You also make yourself available to unexpected ways of attracting success. Many of us are in the habit of constantly putting ourselves down. If you think back over your day today, chances are you’ll be able to pick out several self-put-downs right off the top of your head, and remember even more later. For some, putting themselves down is so automatic that they might not even realize they do it. In order to stop putting yourself down, it’s necessary to discover your intrinsic self-worth. This is the high self-esteem that’s natural in all of us, but that we tend to squelch and bury with our put-downs. How do you find your inner self-worth and build self-esteem? First, letting go of the self-doubt and self-criticism that causes you to feel low self-esteem. When you let go, you discover the inner source of esteem that is not dependent on anything outside of you. And you discover that high self-esteem is quite natural. Often times this process of releasing negative emotions and improving the overall quality of your life can be a long and difficult journey of self discovery. When you do accomplish this, however, you tap into your natural inner peace and confidence, without needing to “build yourself up” in an artificial way. You will also notice that as you use this process, you will become more aware of your feelings, even if you have difficulty identifying your feelings now. This is a sign of progress, and it means that you are ready to release many emotions that you were either suppressing or avoiding. The good news is that you will find it easier and easier to let go the more you use this process, which is what creates the safety for you to experience your feelings more deeply. You will also feel the good feelings more fully, and will gain even more enjoyment and aliveness in everything you do.
