A Bee's Red Ribbon

Jollibee Foods Corporation is known to be as one of the biggest corporations in the Philippine, rivaling that of Ayala Corps. This isn't only because of their own name, but also because of their massive expansions on other market or segments in the food-service industry. This includes acquisitions of other popular fast-food chains in the country, including Greenwich Pizza, Chowking, and Délifrance. Aside from these acquisitions, Jollibee is also known to have acquired one of the most popular bakeshops in the country, which is also known to compete with Goldilocks Bakery. This is Red Ribbon Bakeshop.

Red Ribbon Bakeshop, or commonly known as Red Ribbon, is one of the few bakeshops in the country that gained the top spot similar to that of its main competitor, Goldilocks Bakery. This is because of its relentless innovation as well as serving some of the most unique collections of cakes and pastries in and out of the country. Across the Philippines, Red Ribbon is one of the few choices that Filipinos make when it comes to buying cakes as well as pastries. But where did it first came from? And when did Jollibee Foods Corporation acquired this chain?

Red Ribbon Bakeshop was first established in in 1979 in Quezon City along Timog Avenue as a hobby-induced business. Although at that time, Goldilocks Bakery was considered as the only popular bakery in the Philippines, Red Ribbon eventually grew popular in its own. Later on, its owners decided to open a branch outside of the Philippines. In 1984, they opened their first US branch in West Covina, California. It was later in 1999 that Red Ribbon Bakeshop entered a franchising business, which furthered its popularity across the Metro Manila. This expansion was then noticed by Jollibee Foods Corporation, which was at that time, looking to expand their business through acquiring other popular fast-food branches.

In 2005, Red Ribbon was acquired by Jollibee Foods Corporation, a conglomerate of popular fast-food chains in the Philippines. With its acquisition in October 2005 by Jollibee Foods Corporation, Red Ribbon entered a new phase in its company history. The company will soon become the biggest and fastest-growing bakeshop in the Philippines. Its mission is to bring the joy of eating to everyone through its great-tasting food and superior quality.
