Philippines is one of the many countries in Asia that sports some of the most popular collections of philippine flowers. Although not all of these came from Philippine soil, Filipinos have come to cultivate these flowers for business purposes. But other that the Philippine's colorful collection of flowers, their collection of flower shops are as also as colorful, especially those coming from Dangwa Flower Market. In the heart of the busiest place in Manila lies one of the most beautiful flower across the country. Well in fact, this flower is a collection of different flower shops congregated together to provide ManileƱos their need for flowers.

Dangwa Flower Market, or known as simply Dangwa, is a popular fresh philippine flowers market in the heart of Metro Manila. It's popularity in Metro Manila stems from the number flower shops that sells different collections of flowers. According to latest reports, Dangwa is composed of more than 50 stalls set-up along Dos Castillas and other parallel streets in Dimasalang, Sampaloc, Manila.

One of the many reasons for its popularity aside from its sheer number of flower shops, is its prices. Prices of philippine flowers in the area are both negotiable and affordable. On a regular day, roses can be bargained for as low as P50 a dozen. During special occasions like Valentine's Day and All Souls' Day, prices of key products have been known to soar by as much as six times. So where did they coined the name "Dangwa"? Actually, before it was known as a flower market, the place was also known for its bus terminal called Dangwa Transport terminal. Because the place was popular for that name, flower vendors have come to use it as their own.

Considered a center of flower retail in the Metro, Dangwa showcases the richness of floral products in Luzon, especially those that comes from Baguio City, Davao City, Tagaytay City, Cotabato City and Laguna. A wide range of blooms are offered day in and day out, from roses, zinnias, marigolds, and chrysanthemums, to anthuriums, gerberas, daisies, and tulips. Rare flowers can also be bought at some select stores here but have to be ordered at least a week before needed.

While most of the stalls cater particularly to individual customers, there are also wholesale flower retailers in the area that answer to large orders. Some bigger flower shops even accept deliveries. Ornamental petals and leaves, floral supplies and decors, and accessories like laces and ribbons are also available in Dangwa.
