A Plus Sized Apple

Self-consciousness is one of the many distinct traits of every women across the world. Paying attention to what they look like, how good their hair looks like, what jewelries to wear, what things to get inside their tiny purses, how much make up to put on, what clothes to wear, those sort of things are a typical for a woman. The only thing that other women can't enjoy about this is when they are considered as plus sized.

One of the many growing concerns in the US today the population of overweight people, this also includes the women. Though there's nothing wrong for being a plus size, there are certain things that they cannot enjoy that other women can. One is the selection of clothes. Popular branded clothing lines today only offer sizes that sometimes can't accommodate those of plus sized.

Because of this, new brands of clothing lines have been put up to offer the right kind of size with the right kind of fashion that women would like to have. One of those clothing brand is apple bottoms.

apple bottoms is a woman's clothing line founded by American rap artist Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr. or popularly known as Nelly alongside Yomi Martin & Ian Kelly. The brand was mainly inspired by Nelly's vision that “a woman should not try to fit the clothes; the clothes should fit the woman!" Since its launch, apple bottoms have received so much recognition from the public because of what it did, it opened new opportunities for women to explore the ever growing world of fashion.

The brand, which when launched, was exclusively a denim label, and has since gone through a major line-expansion. Currently the apple bottoms label includes: apparel, footwear, handbags, eyewear RX, intimates, sunglasses, accessories, jewelry, cold weather, and girl’s apparel.

Because of the huge popularity of the brand in the urban community, other rap artists have also included the brand on some of their works. The term "apple bottoms jeans" is referred to in various Hip-Hop songs, such as Overnight Celebrity by rapper Twista, and more recently by the R&B artist Flo Rida, in the song "Low" featuring T Pain. The term is also used in the songs "Tip Drill" and "Paradise" by Nelly, and in the Eminem single "Shake That" (ft. Nate Dogg) from his 2005 album, Curtain Call, and his 2006 album (Remix ft. Nate Dogg, Obie Trice, Bobby Creekwater) The Re-Up.
