A Scent From The Philippines

Flowers aren't found sprouting out from the ground. There are several flowers, particularly the wild ones, growing from atop a tree. Philippines is one of the many Asian countries that shares some of these unique flowers across the world. These include the Ylang-Ylang, Dama De Noche, and Kalachuchi flowers philippines. However, aside from being up the tree, these flowers are also known for their unique strong, and aromatic scents.

The Ylang-Ylang
Known in the Tagalog term as "rare", the Ylang-Ylang flowers possesses a fragrant scent unlike any other. In fact its essential oils are quite useful in aromatherapy, and are believed to relieve high blood pressure and normalize sebum secretion for skin problems. The ylang-ylang tree is a native of the Philippines and prefers to grow in slightly acidic rainforest soil. Its flowers are yellow-green in color and shaped rather like starfish. Other than the Philippines, the Ylang-Ylang flower is also native to other neighboring Asian countries such as Indonesia. The plant is also grown in Polynesia, Melanesia and Micronesia.

Dama De Noche
Also known as the "Lady of the Night", these unique flowers philippines is only known to bloom at night while exuding a very sweet scent. Although widely cultivated in the Philippines, the plant was introduced from tropical America. Other than the name Dama De Noche or Lady of the Night, the flower is also known as the Night-blooming Cestrum,Queen of the Night, Night-blooming jessamine, and Night-blooming Jasmine. Also known as Raat ki Rani (Queen of the night) in Urdu and Hindi.

Kalachuchi
Plumeria acuminata Air. is a flowering plant cultivated in the Philippines. Known commonly as "kalachuchi," it is usually planted for ornamental purposes. Plumeria acuminata was introduced to the Philippines from Mexico by the Spaniards. It is now pantropic in distribution. Kalachuchi is mainly grown in the Philippines as an ornamental plant, with the flowers philippines as its main attraction. The flowers are supposed to be the source of the perfume known as "Frangipani."

Kalachuchi has a variety of medicinal properties. Its bark, which contains the bitter glucoside plumierid, is used as a purgative, emmenagogue, and febrifuge when in decoction. In Mexico, the calcium salt-containing latex is given for toothache, and when combined with coconut oil is used as a remedy for itching.
