Blancpain Watches - A Tradition But Far From Traditional

Submitted by k00lit

Blancpain, one of the oldest watchmaking companies around, started its tradition of creating timekeepers back in 1735. Named after its founder, Jehan-Jaques Blancpain, the company, which was first headquartered in Villeret, Switzerland, began making a legacy of watches renowned for their classical movements and unique designs put together by the competent hands of excellent watchmakers.

Compared to other luxury brands, Blancpain watches may not be as popular but for true lovers of time pieces, there is no doubt that Blancpain is a well-respected brand. The company, in its early years, claimed that they will never produce a quartz watch. Of course, when quartz watches were all the rage, Blancpain suffered a severe blow. However, if there is one thing that can be said about Blancpain, it is tradition. Blancpain hold tight to its tradition of creating mechanical watches and until now, after its so-called dark age, it still produces the best watches, mechanical watches that is, in the planet.

As another tradition, the company has always been run within the family. For seven generations, the Blancpain family managed their ancestor's legacy. By the time the last member of the family passed away, the tradition of producing mechanical watches was continued by Andre Leal and Betty Fiechter. Before long, the Swatch Group took over the management and Blancpain is operating under Marc A. Hayek who still holds tight to the roots of the company—mechanical watches of avant-garde technologies and carefully handcrafted designs.

Blancpain limits its production to 10,000 in a year while other watch brands release about 1/5 of that number a day. At first glance, you would think that Blancpain is falling behind and cannot keep up with the forerunners of the watch industry. On the other hand, knowing that Blancpain uses up a lot of time to produce luxury timepieces that are well worth the wait, you will surely say that the numbers are more than justified.

Do you happen to have a Blancpain watch? Blancpain watches are considered one of the most exclusive brands there is. If you are in need of some quick money, now is your chance. Sell your watch to trustworthy companies. Go online. You will see a number of online companies advertising we buy Blancpain watches. Break even with your watch or even make some profit!
