Starting a business of wholesale clothing is much like setting up any other kinds of businesses; it requires large amount of experience as well as the strongest of will. According to several professionals in the field of business and commerce, majority (an over of 80%) of those starting a business of wholesale clothing or any other types of businesses may it retail or wholesale fail at their first year. This is largely due to lack of experience, or background in handling a business.

Most of successful wholesale clothing businesses today were once retail businesses. Unlike wholesale, retail are much easier as well as requires little capital compared to starting a wholesale business. Also, retail businesses require little experience due to the scope of its business. However, business handling experience is still required to achieve success for a retail business. So where can experience in handling this kind of business come from?

There are many ways in which an individual could attain their experience. One example is taking up special lessons about entrepreneurship. There are a lot of books out there that could provide the necessary knowledge for one to start their own business. These books are usually from people that experienced first hand on how to handle their businesses as well as how to deal with risks that could both serve advantageous to a business or could lead a business to its downfall.

But other than books and special class about entrepreneurship, experiencing how to handle a business first-hand is a much more appropriate way to learn of the ways of handling a business. Majority of those authors that provides knowledge and know-hows on how to handle a business have been an employee themselves. Working as a clerk on a retail clothing business or as a sales agent for a wholesale clothing business may provide the necessary knowledge on how things are done inside a business. From these, they could easily learn the process that makes a business run smoothly.

Through hands-on experience, people could also learn from taking risks as well as properly handling it. Risks are an important factor in every types of business. How a person handles a risk determines if the business could be successful. Risks, although known to be the main reason for bankruptcy in businesses, are also the key to a business' success, particularly when this risk involves a rapid growth of the business. That is why, aside from capital, experience as well as a strong will are also required for a business to grow and prosper.
