Fashion Scarves To Look FabulousSubmitted by ronrJ Fri, 19 Jun 2009
One of the most important parts about making clothes look fantastic on you is making sure they fit you wonderfully. Hiring a tailor or seamstress to alter your clothing is the best way to go, but you won\'t always have time or money for this luxury. There are some ways to make sure you never look like you are wearing ill-fitting clothing. Follow these simple tips to always look like your wardrobe was custom made for your body.
Camouflage Sometimes the best way to make an item look like it fits like a dream is to effectively hide the parts that really don\'t. If the garment is just a little too big around the waist, camouflage it with a perfectly tied scarf or belt. If the sleeves are just a little too short, wear a shirt under or over with sleeves that are plenty long. If your pants are a little short, tuck them inside a great pair of boots. Many fitting flaws can be camouflaged with the perfect accessories. Just make sure the camouflage is truly convincing. If the accessories look purposeful, then no one will notice the fit isn\'t truly perfect. If you find it difficult to hide the imperfections, then don\'t wear the outfit. No matter the designer label or your love for the clothing, you won\'t look good in it if the fit is all wrong. Learn to Sew Learning to sew just a little isn\'t difficult and can make a world of difference in how good your clothes look and feel. While you will probably never master major alterations, there are some minor fixes that you can effectively do yourself. Shortening and lengthening hems is one fix that every person who cares about the way their clothing looks should learn. With some materials and cuts, you can even accomplish this with a no-sew hem product and never even have to touch a needle and thread. When purchasing clothing, you need to consider if altering simple things like hemlines or sleeve length is even an option. If you are going to need to let the hem or sleeve down, you need to ensure there is enough material there to do so. You will find the amount of extra material varies greatly from brand to brand and even from item to item within a brand. If there are almost no or very little seam allowances and material at the hem, chances are the piece can\'t be altered and is probably low quality to begin with.
Although not a problem with scarves and shawls, sometimes its difficult to get fashion accessories to fit properly.
