Scarves & Stoles - Cashmere Scarves

Submitted by trdindia

A Cashmere scarf is not merely an accessory; it is often passed on from one generation to another as heirlooms. They are made from the fleece of the Himalayan goat, also known as the Capra Circus. This wool fiber is obtained painstakingly, and is hand spun using handlooms. As the wool is extremely delicate the whole process of weaving a scarf is carried out manually.

A cashmere scarf reflects the rich cultural heritage of Indian craftsmen. These scarves are a rage not only in India but all across the world. Fabricating scarves from cashmere is an ancient art, which is a treasured art of weavers, which is passed on from father to son. As the cashmere wool is extremely soft and light weight, a cashmere scarf is heavenly soft and warm to the skin.

Both men and women can support a cashmere scarf with equal elan. Based on the styles prevalent in the market and the buyers' tastes and preferences, cashmere scarves are available in a number of designs and patterns. For women, these scarves are usually plain knit, mesh and ribbed, whereas, those for men are not knitted but woven. Also, for men they are available in primarily two forms; check and single colour. Those for women are more ornate and are available in a number of designs and patterns. A cashmere scarf for women may have intricate embroidery, mix and match of colours, embellishments, etc. It may also be beaded or silk screened with block prints.
