Special Evening Prom DressesSubmitted by goodevening Thu, 21 May 2009
It's the occasion that every teenager looks forward to - often for a very long time! The boys are checking out the latest in tuxedos and designer suits; the girls are thinking colours, materials and style; the hair salons are quickly filling up with appointments; and limousine companies can't take the bookings fast enough. What are we talking about? Prom night, of course!
In the past, shopping for a prom dress was limited to bridal shops, boutiques, and department stores. Style choices were often minimal, as well. Unless a girl had her dress special-made, there was always the risk of showing up at prom wearing a dress identical to the dress worn by one of her classmates. What a disaster that would be! Nothing could be more humiliating to a teenage girl. These are all valued for being available to every one and to any kind of customer. Prom dress selection is really a concerned matter and now Internet have made it easier to get it according to your pocket and mind from different online shops. You can get suggestions from the designers as well and those who are trendsetters can make their own choice. Prom dresses are of different types and categories. If you are 5' 3" or shorter with a small build and an average sized bust, you'll want a dress to complement the petite such as an empire, sheath or a-line prom gown. With a slit, you can make your legs appear longer. Or, you can look much taller by wearing a dress with a short hemline. The hemline might be ruffled, handkerchief, hi/low, or asymmetrical - whichever best suits you. There are also a-line and empire styles to take emphasis off your waistline if you are short-waisted. Your neckline could be sweetheart, halter, or v-shape. You can even shop for a designer prom dress or a discount prom dress in the same place! You can usually even find special occasion dresses (so you don't need to shop for a graduation dress at a later date) at the same time you are shopping for prom dresses online, because they're often sold together. If you are looking specifically for a modest prom dress or prom dress plus size styled, search for them both online and in stores. You'll have no trouble finding tons of styles that are exactly what you're looking for in great colors. Many high school aged girls these days are wearing prom dresses that are far too revealing. Attached to the body with double-sided tape and exposing just about every piece of skin on your body is a look for our tinsel town daredevils and is not really appropriate for a prom. Your Body Measurements are More or Less the Same: If your weight is evenly distributed, look for plus size prom dresses that you give you shape. A fitted bodice top, a sash around the waist, and a flowing bottom will most likely look the best on you. Whichever dress you choose, make sure you feel comfortable in it. A sleeveless mermaid prom dress with sexy shoes and a great evening bag may be perfect for you!
