In 2006 Mudd was bought by Iconix Brand Group a brand management company that licenses brands to retailers and manufacturers primarily in the apparel, footwear, and apparel accessory industries. Its brands are available in such stores as Kohl's, Kmart, Sears, Macy's, Mervyn's, Target and JC Penney.

Under new ownership Mudd has continued to expand their brand and has introduced “Mudd Girls Move the World” which features real girls and their stories about helping out in their community.

Mudd products can be found in the United States at Kohls, JC Penney, Sears, Shoe Dept., Mervyns, Famous Footwear, Bealls, Bon Ton, Carson Pirie Scott, and Stage. mudd is also available in Panama and Mexico.
