The Sun is coming to a town near you!Submitted by rampdog Sat, 14 Mar 2009
Typically in April and May the weather warms and people start coming outside from their winter hibernation, well sort of. In ways that people don’t understand and are in plain sight we all do things a little differently once the sun starts climbing in the sky! I, for one, long to be in the sun! Today we know more about the sun than ever, and that includes its unrelenting rays that shoot through us at the speed of light setting off free radicals within our skin causing melanoma and other types of skin problems. Warmth also lends itself to fewer and fewer clothing options and in fact just plain fewer clothes. So are fewer clothes appropriate? I will tell you that I think they are but that is just one persons opinion, and I am sure there will be some who rebuke me for saying it but less, is more!!
What people need to do is make sure that they are wearing plenty of sunscreen, and limit the direct exposure to early and late in the day. Everyone has a sunburn story, including you. Even if you live on the north/south pole its possible to be burned by the sun, again setting off that chain reaction in our skin that makes us dark, and sometimes makes us sick. What we wear also has a lot to do with exposure. Some types of clothing can actually block UV rays to a certain extent while other types of clothing are specifically designed to not block UV rays in order to help reduce the look and visibility of tan lines. Tan lines which can take the form of “trucker tan”, “farmer tan”, “skier tan”, and “taxi drivers tan’ can all make us look ridiculous in the summer and the only way to fight that is with the proper attire and plenty of sun block. Clothing for summer: its time again to get ready to play out side for the summer season. What people wear is as important as what they say. Are you ready? What will you be saying?
http://www.vickiscc.com is a great place to purchase your summer clothing and more.
