What is a multiway bra, and when would you wear one?Submitted by mbrown Thu, 15 Sep 2011
Visible bra straps can spoil many outfits, especially in the summer when you may wish to show more skin without revealing your lingerie choices to the world. From glamorous gowns to tank tops, many outfits have traditionally required women to be creative when it comes to hiding their bra straps - but this can be avoided by wearing multiway bras for all occasions.
These versatile bras can be fastened in various ways, depending on the type of outfit you're wearing - so you won't need to buy a wide range of bras for different occasions. Shoulder straps can be detached as required, and modified into a halter bra suited for halter neck tops and dresses - with the straps running behind the neck - or you can cross and clip the straps at the back to offer all the support of a sports bra. Some types of multiway bras also feature extra low back adjustments for lower cut dresses, and of course multiway bras can also be worn as normal bras. Depending on your outfit, you can also choose an asymmetrical single strap option. Multiway bras can therefore be ideal for a range of situations, and even if you're attending a busy day incorporating multiple activities - such as team building seminars or holiday pursuits - you can conceivably wear the same bra no matter what your outfit, spending a little time adjusting the straps in-between. Multiway bras are available in a range of styles for busts and waists of all sizes, and despite their complexity they are not necessarily more expensive than standard bras either - which can also mean you save a lot of money when buying a single bra for all occasions. These bras can be bought from many of the same places you buy regular bras, including department stores, specialist lingerie outlets and online retailers. You can find products available from many of the top designers in the business, in addition to more budget options. You should spend enough time choosing your multiway bra to ensure it offers all the comfort and support needed, and you may wish to try out different arrangements before purchasing to ensure they are equally comfortable. This could include checking whether a halter neck configuration is suitable, or could cause your neck to become sore, and that strapless configurations offer enough support. Underwired multiway bras can be chosen for additional support. Matilda Brown writes for a digital marketing agency. This article has been commissioned by a client of said agency.
