Your Little Boy's First WatchSubmitted by kishor Wed, 8 Jul 2009
Buying your little boy his first watch could actually be one of the biggest milestones of your parenting career and conversely, one of his proudest moments as your child.
See, when we got our first wristwatch, it was filled with amusement. We kept on staring at it for a long time and even found excuses to look at it many times in a day. This is especially true if our first watch was the best one around, and we knew it. After all, parents only want the best for their children and children usually get them. This article will talk about the tips on what to get your little boy as his first ever wristwatch. First, get a light watch. No large face watches please. Kids watches should be light because they are supposed to grade dainty wrists. These wrists do not even have the power to open a can or twist a mineral water bottle open. At least make the experience, the mechanical experience of carrying a watch around an easier feat for your little boy. Next, do not get a very expensive watch. Sure, it\'s tempting to get the best for your child but remember that the \"best\" for children is different. Children don\'t really care about diamonds or Swarovski or gold. They don\'t need Chronograph watches. They can\'t appreciate calculators in them too. Keep it straight and simple. Most parents even get digital ones! Aside from children not needing these luxury features, a very expensive watch worn by a child becomes an easy pawn for thieves and swindlers. Just don\'t give these people the motivation and get your child a simple watch. After all, children are very impressionable people. They are driven by appearances. If you want to get your child something shiny, then do so. A thin, lightweight stainless steel would do. Get him something with his favorite cartoon or Disney movie character and he will thank you profusely for it. Now this next tip is about parenting. When you already taught your child how to read time, teach him about the value of punctuality and time management. Teach him to appreciate how good it is to be on time and how it affects people around him. Because of this appreciation, you will not have a hard time egging him to never forget his watch or to take care of his watch. When such values are instilled, push the margin by letting him appreciate the actual act of owning a watch and make him responsible for the physical well-being of the watch. It\'s like hitting two birds with one stone! Guess you never knew how good it is to buy a kid his first watch! Today we are lucky that we can find a lot of fine watches online, yes, even for children. Most parents are doing a lot of things at a time, yes, especially those with the little ones. Thank God you can do your shopping at the comfort of your own home even when you are babysitting!
Guess you\'ll never know how educational it is to purchase your little emperor\'s watch for his little wrist. Read on and find out about fine watches for kids!
