There have been many kinds of bakeries in the Philippines that tried their luck in the cake and pastry industry. Some of these never even lasted for a year, some still stayed as the way they are when they first started. But there is one bakery that came standing up above all other bakeries in the Philippines, this is goldilocks bakery. The name Goldilocks have long been known as a popular children story in which a girl named Goldilocks wondered off through the house of 3 bears. This name, however, became popularity known as one of the biggest bakeries in the Philippines, Goldilocks Bakery.

History
goldilocks bakery is founded by three women, two being sisters which is Milagros and Clarita, and their sister-in-law Doris. The sisters were generally favored because of their baking skills. Milagros has been known to make chiffon cake slices and supplying it to a number of Manila's canteens. Clarita, on the other hand, is talented in baking and decorating cakes in which she often uses during special occasions in Bicol. The sisters, along with their sister-in-law, Doris, then planned to start their own bakery through the sister's talents and hobby in baking.

The name of the bakeshop, however, was thought of a third sister, Maria Flor. Maria Flor suggester the name Goldilocks, after the character in a fairy tale, aiming to make it easier for children and their mothers to remember its name; and because it suggested luck and prosperity. Then it was in 1966 when the founders first opened the doors of goldilocks bakery in a one-door apartment of a two-story structure on Pasong Tamo Street, Makati City.

Goldilocks of Today
Through their success, the founders then opened several Goldilocks Bakeries across the world, particularly in places in which Filipinos immigrants would usually migrate to, such as in the US. From ten employees and two display stands, Goldilocks has become a global brand, expanding to over a total of 250 stores in the Philippines and overseas; and hiring thousands of local employees. The opening day total sales of P574 back in 1966 has multiplied thousand of times over, reaching a system-wide sales of P5.9 billion by the end of 2007.
