iPod Speakers - Things You Need to Know Before You BuySubmitted by John Lewis Sun, 20 Dec 2009
If you own any of the popular iPod products you will want to search for a speaker system that is compatible. Many systems are all inclusive which means they work with all iPod products. If you may have either an iPod Classic, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle or iPod Touch then it should be fairly easy to find speakers that can accommodate all of these. However, be careful while shopping because some of the newer model speakers may not work with the older iPod models. Choices abound. You may need to be flexible depending on what you are looking for and what your budget affords. There are many types of speakers available and there seems to be something for everyone. Here is a look at some of the more popular and well made products.
Bose Sound Deck 2 - Might as well start at the top. As you can guess this Bose system boasts excellent ratings. Amongst its many elaborate features you will find... + Unmatched music clarity. + An easy to use remote that easily navigates songs and play lists. + A smooth elegant design. - The only downsides would be the lack of an FM tuner and the high price. Logitech Pure systems - Good sound quality and travel friendly. As an added plus the carrying case is included. Some features you will find on these models include... + Decent sound. + Compatible with all iPod models including iPhone. Some models may not include 3rd generation iPod models. + Slender design. - The downside is that there is no video output. Altec Lansing systems - Crystal clear sound. A built in FM radio and a wireless remote make this a good investment at a moderate price. You may also enjoy... + The built in alarm clock. + A wireless remote. + An AC adaptor. - The downside may be a slightly awkward design. Macally FLEXTUNE - This affordable system offers good sound output. It also has a video feature that you may find useful. You may not like the poor construction or the awkward button control. This system is a good choice if you like to watch your videos in the park or anywhere you like to hang out. Also consider that the price is on the low end of the scale. Griffin Journi 2.0 - Overall sound quality is ok. It is a good size and definitely portable. It should be said that this is the lowest ranking and least expensive system on our list. B&W Zeppelin- Great design and sound. Awkward remote control buttons. It receives a good rating for a lower priced system. While shopping for your iPod speaker system remember that many models will seem to offer the same features. The trick is to listen for yourself whenever possible. Most systems run from £40.00 to £300.00. You will want to find the most product for your money so do your research. Read reviews, ask people who own a system for their honest opinion. Ask for an in store demonstration whenever possible. These are the best ways to determine which iPod speaker system will work for you.
