No need to compromise with these Party Supplies

When we throw parties for our loved ones, we want it to be the best party, every time. Unfortunately, parties are expensive and many of us are finding it hard to justify splashing out a big do when we have such a foggy financial outlook. Parties shouldn't have to be affected by such doom and gloom, mind - and this handy article should help with some great advice on how to compromise financially yet still throw a fantastic party with all the best party supplies.

Firstly, don't be afraid of setting a budget. You are not 'cheap' if you have a set guide to follow and it's a fantastic way to keep from going overboard. We've all been to fantastic parties that have been on a bit of a budget, as well as horrible parties where the host has splashed out on too much food, drink, entertainment and general tackiness!

Next, never try to out-do a friend when it comes to parties - especially with a kids' birthday. Kids aren't as fussy as you think and can be entertained with the simplest of gifts and goods - a pi can be used as the highlight of the entertainment, while you can rope in fellow mums and dads to entertain with cheap and fun party supplies such as face painting, simple magic tricks or blowing bubbles.

Don't over-do it on food! Of course, keep everyone well-fed, but you really don't need half as much food as we often buy. With soft drinks, you can often buy the cheaper store-label brands and decant them into large jugs at the event (which also helps reduce the risk of fizzy pop splashing everywhere when someone opens a bottle) and those who are shopping-savvy can often pick up treats well in advance at the sales. Another top tip when it comes to spending less on food for your party is by planning the party at a time when most people have typically already eaten. For a kids' party, shortly after lunchtime is a good idea, as you should then only have to provide snacks.

Finally, you don't need a big venue to have fun. Village halls and school gyms can often be hired out at a small cost if you need the space, rather than a room at a restaurant, pub or hotel and for smaller gatherings there is nothing wrong with throwing a party at home.

The one thing I haven't mentioned is something you don't need to compromise on - party supplies! Buying party supplies on the Internet is a fantastic way of saving money and you can get a much bigger range of party supplies delivered directly to your door in just days. You can host any themed party on a budget - even when it comes to brands that kids love such as Bob the Builder, Disney Fairies and In The Night Garden. All grown-ups love a themed party, too and it doesn't take many party supplies to create a Hollywood or a Disco Party scene on a budget!

As I said, face paints are a fantastic way of keeping everyone entertained and these can be bought at a fraction of the cost on-line. For the kids, why not try the 'Party Pack Face Painting Kit'? Suitable for kids over the age of three, this kit includes enough paint to turn all guests into up to 60 different characters (don't worry, a book is provided with instructions on how to get each face right) including clowns, pirates and vampires!

Grown-ups aren't left out; either and no disco party is complete without the 'Disco Dazzle Make-up Kit'! Just be sure you start painting before the drinks start flowing! Pis are also a fabulous and inexpensive part of any party supplies list and are available in loads of shapes and sizes. Number-shaped pis are great for birthdays, while the traditional Burro shaped pi can spice up any party!

Fill it with sweets, dares, presents - even just confetti and glitter just to see your friends and family get covered, it's a truly fantastic way of having fun without breaking the bank. You don't need to worry about breaking your expensive glasses or plates, too, as there are loads of tableware party supplies that can cater to any occasion - kids will love all of the Power Rangers and Pirate-themed napkins, tablecloths and plates, while adults will find it tricky to damage the Disco Dancer cups!

All in all, if you buy you party supplies in the right place then there is no need to compromise in quality and fun - and a party on a budget is much easier and more convenient when you buy the right party supplies!
