Must-have Suit of Armor AccessoriesSubmitted by jrhilde Thu, 22 May 2008
If you're looking to purchase a suit of armor, you'll be amazed at how many different kinds there are. Armors from the castle of Churberg, Marto suit of armors, Medioevo armors imported from Italy - all of these are great but you may want to consider some accessories that not all suits of armors include that will increase your customer satisfaction.
First, the type of accessories you get depends on the purpose of the armor. Will it be used for display or will it be worn? Wearable suits of armors are usually just that - wearable. This means that they include a sword and a base wooden stand, but that is usually it. Some of the nicer armors made in Italy have chainmail at the elbows to help with the freedom of movement. These can be very nice and excellent costumes and SCA battle armors, but they won't be quite as impressive on display as suits of armor made specifically for that purpose. Display suits of armors are made in India and Spain, and a couple other places. Some of the best accessories include the halberd, jousting spear, or some sort of long battle axe. These increase the apparent height of the armor and make it look life like in the fact that it is standing guard. Spanish suits of armors are best for this type of accessory. Another cool accessory is fabric gowns that go around the waist. These can often be very exquisite and be made and embroidered with the textiles of the medieval ages. These add quite a lot to the look and feel of the medieval suit of armor. Though Spanish armors also have the best fabric gowns, some Indian made armors are fast catching up with a good selection of display armors with quality fabric gowns. Lastly, display armors will often have delicate etchings on them (some of them in gold) to make them more visually appealing. About the Author
