Choose a headboard that is suitable for the size of your bed and bedroom. If your room is rather small, a large headboard might make the space feel even more cramped. Also, headboards will need to be backed against a solid wall. Therefore consider its placement in relation to bedroom windows and doors.

After you purchase your bed, you will need proper bedding. Typically, you will need a set of fitted sheets to cover your mattress, pillows and pillowcases, and a duvet with a duvet cover.
