Steps in Creating Postage Designs

Submitted by dstargel

Postage stamps are evidences that the package has been paid for the services in sending them. Postage stamps began in England and have since then spread across the globe each with its own shapes and design. Each country commemorates events into their postage stamps and even put designs that distinguish their country from any other country.

The technology today has changed everything including the postage stamp. The postal services have never been efficient. You will never have to line up in the post office to send your package, you can even print one at home. The best thing is that you can even design your own postage stamps.

Customized postage stamps are like the icing of the cake. It gives the receiver a sense of importance because even the little details are made special from the package up to the postage stamp. So here are lists of steps to make your customized postage stamps look its best.

The first thing to do is to select a theme for the postage stamp you will be printing. The theme must match the occasion you will be sending it to. If the occasion is a wedding, then it is recommended to use a theme that is related to the wedding and not just pick a random theme from a large array of selection. Picking the right theme will certainly make the postage stamp look more elegant.

The second step is to choose a photo that will fit perfectly the theme you chose. You can choose from the internet for pictures but make sure you are using the non-copyrighted images from someone else\'s picture. You do not want someone else to use you photos too don\'t you? So it is only fair to use public domain images or to be perfectly sure that no one gets offended, you may just want t use your own photos from your web pages or from your personal computer. Select at least two photos you like that you can compare the images that suit the postage design best.

As you may already notice, postage stamps are small so you must crop unnecessary things from your images to make it fit on the postage stamp. You will need an editing program to edit your images and crop out the unnecessary things and to be able to create a focal point for the design. Look for blurs and blemishes in your image and fix it. After editing the image, you will then upload it to the postage stamp software for printing. Before printing, you can preview what the postage stamp will look like when printed.

Quality postage stamps are created by using quality inks in printing the postage stamps so therefore, you must use inks that you know can create quality prints.

Creating a postage stamp design is easy as long as you keep these steps in mind.
