Online Tips for a Woman's Dating Profile

Submitted by Susan Lancaster

Dating has taken on a whole new form with the creation of online dating. There are numerous amounts of websites designed to help people find love. When creating a profile on one of these websites it is easy to get lost in the shuffle if the profile does not stand out above the rest.

1. The Heading

The heading is the first line that someone will see when they look through a list of profiles. Generic and uninteresting headings often get overlooked by the seeker. This is an area that needs to catch their attention. Try writing a headline that incorporates inner self into it with a touch of humor.

2. About Me

The about me area of the dating profile is the place to shine. Long profiles will send many people back to the search page. Small snippets of who you are and what your interests are will keep them on your page. Try to incorporate as much of yourself into a simple paragraph without bragging. This Is also the place to list your hobbies, interests and maybe even future goals.
3. Keep It Light

Negativity will only breed more negativity. If this is the type of person that you are looking for, then write it. If you prefer a lighter hearted person to date, then keep the profile light hearted. Stay positive throughout it. Instead of stating the numerous attempts you tried at finding Mr. Right without any success, try a simple approach of just. Saying "Mr. Right, where are you?" is light, to the point, with a touch of humor.

4. A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
The picture posted on any dating profile should be clear enough for the seeker to make out every detail. This is the first glimpse that the seeker will have of you and every detail counts. Make sure that the eyes are very clear in the picture, clear enough that the true color of them show. The picture should also be very recent.

5. Honesty

Every detail listed in an online dating profile should be honest. This includes exact details about your age, body type and height. The purpose of a dating profile is so that you can meet the right person and when they see you are nothing like you posted, there will not be another date.
