Relationship Advice: How to Fit Dating in as a Single ParentSubmitted by Susan Lancaster Sun, 13 Feb 2011
People who happen to be in love are considered as very lucky, so much so that they would prefer not to lose what they have. Sadly, there are many reasons for couples to break up and when they do, more often than not, one parent remains with the full responsibility of the child. There is little doubt that this can hamper any chance of the single parent to get on with their life and find someone else to be there for them.
Many years ago, finding that someone special when you are a single parent could mean turning to friends and family while you head out to a bar, party or some other function where you would hope to meet someone. The search could be extensive and the days and nights longer than you would like, especially with the side effects of little or no sleep while you go through the meeting and courting stages. By today's standards, things are a whole lot easier with the advent of the dating agency. These providers have only one thing in mind and that is to find someone special for you and they work hard to be successful. As a single parent, who is also employed, doing the clubbing thing is not only costly but it is also unnecessary. With a dating agency, it is as simple as signing on and searching for that someone special. Today, single parents can still have time to spend with their child, (or children) have dinner, go over school work, see the kids off to bed and retire to the computer. This whole exercise will facilitate much needed family time and not make the parent feel as though they are abandoning their kids. A properly planned evening can allow the parent to comfortably search through the possible choices, without the stuffy atmosphere of the bar scene. Going through a dating agency will also allow the parent to take their time while chatting with more than one possible companion, without the undue pressure of having to give in to the early demands of a relationship. Once a reasonable time has passed and the single parent meets someone they feel comfortable with, they can make plans to have an "open air" meeting with them to see if there is a spark. These agencies provide both the screening protection and the choice for the single parent to meet someone and move forward with their lives.
