Here are some great tips to help you develop a strong relationship with your date. Always remember that a great relationship involves three you, your date, and God. As long as you remember and honor your commitment to God first, He will take care of you.

Prayer keeps relationships strong. If you spend time with the Lord just before every meeting with your date, you will be in a great frame of mind to enjoy your time with each other. It is best to pray alone or in groups. It may seem counterintuitive to avoid praying with your date, but remember that prayer is a very intimate thing. If you are routinely praying with only your date, it could draw you together in a way that you are not ready to handle yet. If you want to pray with your significant other, find a prayer group to join together. Surround yourself with other Christians so that you are not alone with your date.

Communication is the cornerstone of any strong relationship. Talk as much as possible with your date. Delve into as many topics as possible so you can share your ideas and beliefs on a variety of subjects. Leave no stone unturned. You want to be sure that this person is someone who you are compatible with on all levels before you agree to marry them.

Your date should be your friend first. Keeping things on the friendship level makes sure that you are honoring your commitment to God and sets the foundation for a strong marriage. Everyone wants to be married to their best friend so keep that in mind when you are dating someone. The longer your friendship, the stronger your marriage will be if you decide to marry each other. Until then, remember that this friend could be someone else future spouse. Staying friends and not moving into physical intimacy sends a signal that you respect that person and their future spouse whether it's you or not.

Many Christian couples choose not to kiss until they are engaged. This may seem very difficult, especially since society sees kissing as so harmless. There is kissing all over TV, movies, advertisements. It is not a big deal, right? Wrong. Did you know that one kiss begins the chain of sexual stimulation in a man? In fact, even the possibility that there may be kissing can give a man an erection. This does nothing to honor God or the woman he is dating.

Choosing not to kiss prevents the temptation to go further. If you can manage to follow this rule, everything else will come easily. Taking out the physical contact in a relationship allows you to build a friendship that honors each other and serves God. Some engaged couples choose to not kiss until they are at the altar on their wedding day. It may seem silly or archaic, but it shows a deep respect for God and your future spouse if you save everything for them. It will make that special day even more magical.

Many Christian couples choose to go on double dates with another Christian couple. This can be a lot of fun because you can engage in group activities like sports or even just seeing a good movie together. It also helps both couples develop their friendships without the risk of falling to the temptation to be physically intimate. You will serve as protectors of the purity of your friends relationship and they will help protect yours.

The most important thing to remember in a Christian relationship is to always treat the other person with respect. Treat others as you would like to be treated. Do not say or do things that you know would hurt your date. When you are frustrated about something, go to God in prayer and ask for a solution. Talk things over with your pastor, parents, or other figures you respect. Most importantly, talk to your date. A strong friendship is rooted in good communication. Be honest and sincere with each other and you will grow together toward the type of relationship God wants for you a strong marriage.
