Why would A Date Never Call Me Again?Submitted by Susan Lancaster Mon, 18 Oct 2010
The dating scene is never easy. It's hard enough to meet someone interesting, but keeping them interested is sometimes even harder. Often when two people are dating and everything seems to be going fine, one person may disappear for no reason at all. The burning question that keeps the deserted up at night is, why someone would lose interest in you all of a sudden?
Aside from it being very bad manners to walk away without an explanation, most people can't face confrontation. It's much easier to just hide. After the initial hurt and rejection fades, a determination to find a reason generally takes over. So, what makes someone you thought was in to you withdraw? There are many motives, most of them not good, for being rejected. It's important though to examine the causes, and then improve for future relationships. If any of these examples ring true, it could be the reason a steady date may vanish. • Too Clingy. Be careful about being too clingy, needing to have a phone call or email every hour of every day. • Poor Hygiene. No matter how many books and talk shows endlessly discuss that beauty comes from within, the cold hard facts are beauty attracts. A person doesn't have to have movie star good looks, but it is very important to properly bathe and not dress slovenly. • High Maintenance. If nothing is ever good enough and a person is constantly critical of the one they are dating or others around them, it is a huge turn off. Even beauty takes a back seat if criticism and a constant need for the best of everything is a focal point. • Too Serious Too Soon. Don't start picking out the wallpaper, or talking about how many children you want and what school they should attend on a first date. Nothing will make a date take off faster than too early of a commitment demand. • Too Cheap or Stingy. Cheap is different than frugal. Everyone has to watch their pennies nowadays, but if someone is constantly bickering over the cheapest thing on the menu or leaving a ridiculously low tip, then they are cheap. • Negative About Everyone and Everything. Constant negativity can kill a relationship. When someone regularly has pessimistic views on everything, they are not enjoyable to be around. Why would someone lose interest in you all of a sudden? If any of the examples describe your attitude or personality, improvement is overdue. Work on changing habits and outlook, and those dates just might start sticking around for a long time.
