The Realities Of Cheating

To be a spouse means being a husband to a woman, or being a wife to a man. Have we forgotten exactly what this means? In recent times, there has been growing spate of infidelity in marriages and committed relationships. So many couples are presently cheating on one and other in one manner or the other that it appears to be truly epidemic. The circumstance is particularly true in many European countries and in the U.S. Could the reason for this be fueled by media and entertainment? That is another issue to be addressed at a different time. For now, we will dig into the matter of cheating itself.

The affect of having an affair in marriages and committed relationships is like a canker worm eating into the fabric of life and love. Very many families have been destroyed and many individuals have lost their bearings all because of cheating and having affairs. The ironic thing is, it does not have to be this way!

Indeed, the act of cheating in marriage and so called committed relationships is very real. Individuals who get involved in or are affected by affairs know this all too well. As a rule the chief side affect resulting from cheating becomes the lack of trust that develops between the lives of the couple. The virtue of trust is the foundation of every surviving martial union and committed relationship in the entire world. When ever a man has confidence in his spouse and appreciates the value of the woman, the home is more balanced than ever. In the same vein, when a woman trusts her partner, the home stays intact. Without this, we see the opposite phenomenon.

Cheating in marriage is heightened when there is an obvious lack of trust between the couple. This begins with suspicion from either the wife or the husband. When this is the instance, the relationship begins to head towards failure. If there is an actual case of cheating from either of the parties, only the presence of trust is capable of making things right again, however, it is awfully grueling to rebuild trust after you have been totally betrayed by the infidelity of your partner. However, as soon as there is a complete lack of trust, suspicion is sure to manifest in the home. If the man is the one having an affair, the woman will start to suspect him from all angles and vice versa. This is no way to live.

Cheating in marriage is real. The evidence is all over the place. Multiple families have been torn in two because of it. Many women choose to be single parents because of it and many men choose to leave their families because of it. A child born in such an environment suffers the consequences which could mar the rest of their life. This is usually the case, particularly when the affair leads to break-up.

In families where cheating has led to separation and divorce, the wounds will stay with everyone involved. The memories and affect will linger on no matter what. You cannot run away from it. Women in particular are quite vulnerable, particularly when they have great love for the man involved. In instances where cheating leads to break-up, it may take the woman years, if not a lifetime, to come to terms with the circumstances, but of course men can also be utterly destroyed when their spouse cheats on them and never completely recover from the affect as well. If such a relationship has produced children the situation is worsened.
