Here are a few tips on how to become more environmentally friendly which will work for most anyone. If you think that you can't do anything to help the environment because you don't have a lot of money to spend then you might want to consider focusing on small things that you can incorporate into your everyday life.
There are so many things that can be incorporated into our daily lives if we get into the habit of paying attention to all the little things that can be done. Think about easy ways that you can use less and reuse more. Here are a few suggestions.

Reducing use of paper products

Even though using less toilet paper is not an option you can still easily switch to recycled paper products and for cleaning and wiping up spills you can use old cloth towels which can be used and washed and hung outside to dry in the sun or on a rack inside.

Use less energy

Change to energy efficient light bulbs, put electrical devices that operate via remote on a power strip and when you're not using them shut them off.

Cut down on gasoline usage

Thinking of ways of how you can become more environmentally friendly is not that difficult. Ride your bike or walk if you're only going a short distance, carpool, ride local transportation if not all the time then maybe part of the time and here's a really easy one-when you're done with your cell phone charger unplug it or better yet invest in or make your own solar cell phone charger.

Use less water

Take shorter showers-reduce by 1 or 2 minutes, turn water off when brushing teeth, install an aerator on your showerhead, only do full loads of dishes and laundry and buy from farmers and ranchers that practice sustainable production techniques. When watering your lawn, don't over water and don't water the sidewalks.

Reuse More

Instead of always buying new, try buying lightly used which is cheaper and a perfect example of how to become more environmentally friendly. Furniture, clothing, grills, building materials-with a little thought many things can be reused.
When you go to the grocery store you can bring your own reusable bag to carry your groceries in and all your food scraps can easily be put into a compost pile to make nice rich compost for use in your garden to grow healthy food for you and your family.

All these things are not too difficult and they not only help the environment but conserve resources while at the same time saving you money. Sounds like a win-win to me.
