When you love somebody very profoundly, do you think of it as an emotional investment? In terms of money, an investment is made so a return on investment can be earned. Do you think of the time, the effort and the emotions that you spend on a person as that, an investment that requires a return over time?

This is most likely one of the biggest errors that you can make when you are in a relationship. When you are in a marriage or in a committed relationship, it is true that you and your partner need to be on the same level when it comes to the emotions that you are investing in one and other. None the less, it is actually a better decision all the way around if you do not anticipate a return on investment and give generously with no strings attached. Give to do good, do not give to get because in conclusion, giving to get is a type of selfishness and opens you up to extreme disappointment when persons you are giving to do not return what you are expecting. To have unnecessary expectations based on self centered motives is only setting yourself up for failure.

Tried and True Solutions

As clich as it may sound, giving is much better than receiving. Does it cost you anything at all to recognize the value of your partner and earnestly give them compliments? Would it hurt to surprise your wife or girlfriend with a romantic gesture every once in a while? Or what could it harm to compliment and display signs of affection to your man instead of complaining about only what you find displeasing? Would it take much of effort to be certain that you have some quality time set aside to spend with your significant other? Does it not make common sense to rearrange your priorities and give your loved one a greater level of worth?

When you generously offer these sorts of gestures without expecting something in return, you may just be pleasantly surprised with the outcome. This is simply because your partner will feel loved and cherished in a real way. When you make sure you are exerting your best effort to make the relationship succeed, your partner will most usually see that and then respond in kind without your having to ask.

Eternal Love Tonic

By consistently giving perceptible love to another, you will discovery that to cherish is to be cherished. It is perfectly natural when you shower someone with love, attention and understanding, this creates the most fertile breeding ground for love that there is. This causes the individual receiving this love to want to return it in order to receive more. It feeds both the ego and the spirit in a circular motion and brings your loved one close to you. Love like this will continue to increase if you consistently nurture it because it feels so good to be loved and also to give love in return, which makes the love grow stronger.

Love and Let Go

Lets say that you have followed the golden rule that it is better to give than to receive, and you did it generously as explained above. After a while, if you sense that your efforts have still nowhere near paid off, it may be high time to take a closer look at your partners actions.

In actual fact, building a strong relationship is a two-way street: It takes constant effort from both sides. However, consider that when you give, do not consider it as an emotional investment to which you expect something in return. Give generously. If your partner returns the generosity, what you invested will naturally return back to you. If it doesn't come back from them, it wasn't destined to be, and it will come back to you at a different time, in a different from, and likely from a different person.

Be certain that you are not turning a blind eye to what is in front of you. As sad as it actually is, when your partner or husband is cheating, you are commonly the last one to realize.
