How To Be A Good Mum And Earn Your Husband's Honour

It is every woman's desire that one day she would be a wife and a mum; but not every woman remembers to aspire to be a good mum that would be honoured by both her husband and children.

A woman who wishes to be a good mum and earn the honour of her husband must do things that would endear her to her husband's heart and make him treat her with love, respect and honour.

1. Respect your husband: Respect is reciprocal and everyone is naturally inclined to respect those who respect them. If you want your husband to treat you with respect and honour you must first show him respect. When you respect him, he responds by respecting you in return. You should show him respect both at home and in public. The bible says that Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him Lord (1 Peter 3:6), and Abraham responded by treating her like a queen and granted the desires of her heart.
2. Love your family: You should love your family above any other thing. You should love your husband and children above your job, business, career, politics, money and above other families. This display of undiluted love and affection would move your husband into loving you and treating you with respect and honour.
3. Be patient: Being patient is to be willing to wait in the midst of delays. You should be willing to wait when your husband delays in providing that which you requested from him. You should also be fast to hear negative reports but be slow to act or speak. When your husband sees this great virtue in you, he would have no option but to give you your deserved respect and honour.
4. Be faithful to him: Faithfulness to your husband should be unconditional - you must remain faithful to him whether he is rich or poor. Your husband can be very proud of you when you are faithful to him, and this would make him honour you knowing full well that you are one that could be trusted come rain come shine.
5. Pray with your family always: Men are somehow weak when it comes to the things of the Lord, especially in prayers. They admire a wife who knows how to pray and bring the family closer to God. When you demonstrate this strength your spouse is ready to stick to you and treat you like a queen.
6. Be sensitive: A mum who is sensitive to the needs of her partner and children deserves her husband's respect and honour. When you know how to cater for your children and how to take care of things in the home as well as meet your spouse's other special needs, he is bound to value you above rubies.
7. Be a good planner: A mum that knows how to plan the home, manage resources and avoid extravagance makes her partner to see her as one who should be treated with tender love and care.
