How to save Your Marriage from Divorce - All you Need is Love - Really!

Submitted by vcoach

All you need is love, love, love is all you need! And, so goes a verse from the popular Beatles song which was released in 1967. While most critics and journalist in the music industry interpreted John Lennon's message as love is everything, most of the general public seemed to view it as the sole component to a great marriage. In my opinion, it's neither! If you take a moment to examine the following verses that were written by Lennon, you'll soon discover that his message is directed at self-love and self-esteem:

Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.

There's nothing you can do that can't be done.

Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.

There's nothing you can know that isn't known.

There's nothing you can make that can't be made.

I believe that John Lennon was fascinated with music and lyrics that had the power to unite people. In fact, Lennon was quoted as saying, "I'm a revolutionary artist. My art is dedicated to change!" However, I believe that the message he put forth in "Love is all you need" was completely taken out of context. Most people view the phrase merely as a message to love someone else. And, that is way out in left field. Simply put, if you can't love yourself unconditionally, how can you love anyone else? And moreover, how can anyone else love you? The answer is; they can't! The abovementioned verses are directed at self-love and self-esteem because ultimately that is the vehicle for attracting love. You see if you want to have a magical relationship you must love yourself into it. And, to accomplish that, you must overcome the fears and insecurities that are undermining your self-esteem and the ability to master self-love. When you abolish those fears and self-limiting beliefs it isn't hard to believe there's nothing you can do that can't be done. We truly do have the ability to write our own love scripts. However, to accomplish that, you'll have to recoil your finger, unclench your hand and pick up the pen, first! Instead of trying to garner your partners love and affection to fill a void in your own existence, how about filling your own void? Relying on another to fill a void in your life is equivalent to building a house of cards on shaky ground. Sooner or later, when your partner becomes overwhelmed and tired of filling that void, the house crumbles!

When examining the deeper meaning, it seems that John Lennon understood that a better relationship and a better world were only obtainable through the vehicle of self-love. He knew that there was nothing one could do but learn how to be their true authentic selves. There's truly nothing else you can do but learn how to play the game. And when you take care of the tough part (self-love), playing the game can be easy! So, All you do really need is love, love, love is all you need!

Good luck and great love,
