Cure Your Loneliness at ChurchSubmitted by galaxywd Sat, 5 Jul 2008
For those of us who have a lot of family and friends around us all the time, it might be difficult to really comprehend what it is like to be truly lonely. We can sometimes take for granted the ability we have to pick up the telephone and call someone that we know who cares about us when we have a problem or some exciting news that we need to share with someone else. We just assume that having our acquaintances drop by unexpectedly because they want to see us is an ordinary thing.
This really is not so for so many people in our country and around the world. Loneliness is all too common for some people. It can be that they are more isolated from relationships for many reasons. It can be because they have no close family or at least any that is nearby. They can be folks who have a real problem building relationships due to extreme shyness or other social disorders. It can be something as simple as having just relocated to a new town where they know absolutely no one. You would probably say that no one has to be really lonely if they have a computer and are willing to go on line into chat rooms and try to meet other people. This is true, but you also still do not have real life contact with another human being and you actually have no way of knowing exactly what type of person someone really is in cyberspace. One of the easiest and best ways to make new friends and find great activities that you can become involved in is by attending church somewhere. Many churches today offer a variety of groups that you can join in and become a part of depending on what your particular interests are. Although everyone you might meet at church will not necessarily be someone you can bond with, chances are there will someone there that you will connect with since churches are usually filled with friendly people trying to do the will of God, which includes being a friend to others. If you find that you do not have the companionship that you are longing for, visit some of your local churches. Look for one that shares your particular beliefs and offers activities that interest you. You might very well discover that this is the very best place to find and form long lasting relationships with people just like your self. About the Author
