How do you deliver your youth sermons?

Submitted by JamieCG

When you're delivering your youth sermons to your youth ministry into the general congregation of your church there are a few things that you need to keep in mind so that you can keep the attention of everybody including your students. Here are a number of great techniques to keep at hand when you are presenting to your youth ministry so that you deliver dynamic and creative youth sermons that will keep their attention and get them engaged in the material that you are teaching.
The first thing to keep in mind when you are delivering a youth sermon to your youth ministry students is that you are teaching the Word of God to teenagers who need the message. When you are speaking to them about their local Scripture and Jesus Christ you show your passion and your love for God to show through in every single word that comes out of your mouth. When you show a passion and a love for Jesus Christ you will be energetic and charismatic about the word that you are speaking to them. This in turn will raise the chances of them being interested and able raise the chances of you grabbing your attention from the very get-go. When you are excited about the material that you are teaching your youth ministry students you will be able to engage them on a one-on-one basis so that they are not daydreaming or thinking about other things and have concentrated on the word and message that you're delivering to them.
When you're delivering your youth sermons to your youth ministry students you should remember that it is important to connect the stories and the characters of the Bible to your youth ministry students. When you connect the stories and the characters of the Bible to the lives that your students live today you allow your students to make a strong connection to the stories. When your students are able to connect to the characters of the Bible the messages and the stories from Scripture become more for impactful as they can see themselves in the stories that they are learning about.
The sermons they deliver to your youth ministry students should be focused on topics that affect your students on a daily basis or that affect their families on a daily basis. A great way to brainstorm ideas for your sermons is to just simply ask you youth ministry students what topic they would like to learn about. When you ask your students what topics and subjects they want you to speak about not only are you engaging them in the process of your youth ministry work, but for US and youth leader you are learning more about your students and what they want to hear about. This is a win-win situation for everybody involved and you should use it often.
When you're delivering your sermons to your youth ministry remember to let the passion and love you have for Jesus Christ show through so that your students see that you are a man or woman of God who truly understands the Scripture and has a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
