Let’s harmonize Biblical theories with scientific approach

Nature has bestowed human beings with brain; but simultaneously, it has created so many hassles and puzzles to test its capability and human has also accepted all these challenges. It has explored a many tools to answer the puzzles and get rid of hassles. For instance, name of few tools are spiritualism, philosophy and science. Unfortunately, these three tools could never be united. Though, they cross each other’s boundaries at so many places.

Hence, as a progressive organization, ‘New Zealand Christian Foundation’ is determined to unify them. The foundation is trying to tie the knot between Bible and Science. So, it promotes the teaching of science along with the holy Bible. The debate begins with the evolution theory. Bible believes that Adam and Eve were divine creation on the other hand science does not support this theory. Once this issue became so much ignited that a movement occurred which is known as ‘the Clergy Letter Project’. Under this movement, approximately ten thousand ordained ministers and priests in America signed and stated, “We believe that the theory of evolution is a foundational scientific truth, one that has stood up to rigorous scrutiny and upon which much of human knowledge and achievement rests. To reject this truth or to treat it as 'one theory among others' is to deliberately embrace scientific ignorance and transmit such ignorance to our children" (ibid.).

If we minutely study the relation of science and Bible in the history of Christianity then two major errors appear in front of us. The first one is concerning with the perception of common people who do not have adequate perspective pertaining to scientific theories. So, they instantly accept currently popular biblical theory. Later on when that so called popular theory proves absurd then it creates laughable situation. Similarly, the second one error is also about convenient human approach. People use to reject those biblical passages that show conflict with scientific theories. Basically, this ignoring attitude is the safest one approach. Later on when they realize that it was the error of our knowledge not a biblical error then again they do abide with those theories.

In the era of science and technology, when already a delicate thin line has been drawn amongst all religions; we desperately need an ultimate tool to strengthen these lines. Science may play a pivotal role here. So, the initiate (tying knot of science and Bible) taken by New Zealand Christian Foundation is quite praiseworthy.
