The Sikh religion was founded by Guru Nanak Dev Ji, first Guru of Sikhs, in 1469 CE. Today Sikh religion has over 20 million people across the whole world. The Sikhism - is to gloriously follow in their Sacred Footsteps is our Sikh way of Life. Sikh religion teaches the lessons of equality, truthful living, social justice, eliminate superstitions through its Sikh Holy Book, "Guru Granth Sahib Ji".

The Guru Granth Sahib Ji has great compositions of sage-poets of different faiths, including Kabir, Namdev, Baba Farid, Dhanna Bhagat and Ravidas. Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth guru of Sikhs, later enshrined the Holy Book as the eleventh Guru of Sikhs. Guru Granth Sahib was written and compiled by Guru Sahibs themselves. Guru Granth Sahib incorporated the gender equality that means both genders are free to read the Guru Granth Sahib.

Guru Granth Sahib is a powerful rendering to draw the faithful nearer to the vast Oneness of Godhead. Guru Granth Sahib contains the names of all Gods of every religion, both masculine and feminine. Gurbani says that God is neither a male nor a female. In Mool Mantar, God is considered to be "Ajuni" that means Unborn. God is unborn and does not die. In Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Gurus used various effective and inspired methods and examples to spread the message of "Oneness of God" and universal brotherhood. These examples inspire the common people to achieve extraordinary heights in life.

To restore the forgotten and lost glory of the soul, Kirtan is performed to express the spiritualist experiences in the language of love and spirit. Kirtan is the composition of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji with unique musicality and divine poetry. Kirtan with godly sweet melodious fragrance awakens human heart deep layers and consciousness. For the lovers of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Holy Kirtan serves as their daily food, spiritual nourishment, life and consciousness.

On Ang 1375 of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, there are most amazing lines of Kabeer Ji as:

Kabeer Jor Keeaa So Julam Hai Laee Jabaab Khudhaee,
Dhafatar laekhaa Neeksai Maar Muhai Muhi Khaae

It means if you don't live accordingly to the dharma, your face and mouth will be beaten. Guru Sahib says that form which we have as human body is the result of our Karmas. Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is full of teachings, which we can adopt for a meaningful journey called life. The shalokas of many so- called untouchable saints and bhaktas have been found as number of cherished terminal values and instrumental values in Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

The great Sikh Religion was established by our great Gurus. We must need to have better understanding of what our Guru Sahibs wanted to teach about Sikhism and ideal Sikh to be like. Always remember our Waheguru or God who is the creator of all.
