Obesity is strongly linked to several deadly diseases that claim millions of lives every year. Obstructive sleep apnea, various cancers, heart disease, diabetes mellitus and osteoarthritis are diseases common among obese people. For men, erectile dysfunction (ED) is an embarrassing side effect, common in obesity. In fact about 80 % of those with erectile dysfunction overweight.

The relationship between impotence and obesity

The impotence and obesity go hand in hand. Basically if you suffer a type of disease associated with obesity, may suffer some other condition linked to obesity. For example, 80 % of those with ED also have diabetes. Cardiovascular disease and atherosclerosis are even more related to ED. In fact, these diseases that commonly occur in obese people may themselves cause ED by decreasing blood flow. In addition, high insulin levels can damage the nitric oxide required for operation over a long period. Then, the epithelial layer which normally releases the nitric oxide can no longer free.

Obesity is accompanied by a variety of diseases and they all compounded each other. A side effect of obesity is a decrease in testosterone and this could cause ED. There are plenty of other problems like this.

How to fight obesity

Basically, with all the complications strongly related to obesity, including the ED, how to start changing a bit the situation is to lose body fat. Obesity is basically a form of accelerated aging and disease processes. So, naturally the weight loss is a way to stop aging and disease processes. Obesity may be the main cause of premature deaths. ED should not be considered simply as a dysfunction, but as a warning that you are in grave danger.

Weight loss is not a great mystery, though you might think if you watch much television. Basically, you need to burn more calories than you eat. Therefore, more physical activity and eat fewer calories. Most doctors recommend physical activity six days a week, thirty minutes per day. Consult your physician about the amount of exercise is right for you. Make sure the food you eat is nutritious. Eat healthy foods and physical activity on a regular basis can begin to ease your erectile dysfunction, even before weight loss begins. Notice that your cholesterol, your blood pressure and triglycerides improve pretty quickly when you change your lifestyle. All these factors may help alleviate ED.
