If you're getting married you probably feel like you have thousands of decisions to make. One of the biggest, of course, will be where you plan on having the actual wedding. Churches and chapels are the most common, but what do you do if you don't belong to that particular faith or aren't particularly religious at all? A lot of churches aren't comfortable marrying people who aren't of the same faith, and some churches won't do it at all. Many of them like you to be a member of that church. Chapels aren't as restrictive in their requirements, usually, but if you're not a religious person you might not feel comfortable at all. With that in mind, consider the other possibilities for places that you can use to get married. Abbeys are available, but they can have the same kinds of concerns as churches and chapels. Hotels, beaches, and registry offices are also places to get married, and you won't have the issue of whether you're religious at all. Sometimes people who are religious but don't have a lot of money will choose these options, too, because they can be less expensive, stressful, and time consuming than large church weddings.

Hotels are great choices because there's plenty of room for guests from out of the area to have a place to stay. There are also options for a reception, for catering, and for a very high-class wedding that isn't usually that expensive. If a hotel's not for you, though, try the beach. There are miles and miles of beautiful beaches on the islands around Britain and there is everything from soft sand to jagged, rugged, rocky cliffs. Because there are choices you can pick the kind of 'look' that you're after for your wedding and you don't have to spend a fortune on decorations, a fancy location, or anything else. If you're in a hurry and not worried about the formalities of the actual wedding, the registry office might be best for you. It's a simple ceremony, nothing fancy, but you'll be married and you won't have spent much money. That can be very important for couples today because the economy hasn't been as good lately as it was in the past. Because of that, people are spending less on a lot of things. No matter where you decide to get married, though, remember that it's your wedding. Don't let others talk you into or out of something that's very important to you.
