New England Weddings – Planning Ahead For Your Big DaySubmitted by lazysubmit1 Wed, 22 Apr 2009
Your wedding day is one of the most important and thrilling days of your life, so it really pays to plan ahead to ensure that everything runs smoothly. TheNewEnglandWedding has a guideline as to just how far ahead you need to begin with your list making and arrangements, and the sorts of details that, if not listed and attended to in good time, can so easily get overlooked. Sound daunting? Well it needn’t. When a planner takes the strain all you need to do is enjoy the journey that planning your wedding is. After all, every day is one step nearer to the day you actually take your vows. Of course a guide to planning a wedding is merely that, an idea, because every wedding is as unique as the bride and groom themselves.
So, when should you start with your wedding arrangements and where do you begin? Let’s take a look. The latest you should start with your wedding arrangements is a year ahead. It sounds like a long time, but time really does fly and any task is made easier when it can be approached at a leisurely pace. Obviously you need to set the date for your wedding, and the time the ceremony will take place. Perhaps more importantly, as emphasised by wedding experts at TheNewEnglandWedding website who have handled many New England weddings, you are advised to determine what your budget will be, before doing anything else, then you can work comfortably within it. Ask yourself and discuss with your partner how large an occasion your wedding will realistically need to be. Although you still have a year to wait until you actually tie the knot now is the time to make reservations for the locations of your wedding and the reception afterwards. Confirm with the officiant or member of the clergy that they are available and able to take the service on the day your require. And make sure that all those you wish to participate as part of your wedding party (best man, bridesmaids, pages, etc) are free on that day too! It’s a good idea to start drawing up the guest list now, too. But it’s not all lists and confirmation and budgeting – now is when you and your loved on should choose your wedding rings and arrange your engagement party and begin making arrangements for the wedding dress and the outfits for your wedding participants. At least nine months before the big day, the following points should be considered from this checklist: • Choosing and booking the photographer and or videographer • Deciding on a caterer • Decor – what is your wedding theme to be? Now is the time to choose table linens and centrepiece arrangements • Is your favorite florist going to be available? • Who will make the cake? • Are you going to be registering a wish list at a store for your wedding gifts? • Have you planned your honeymoon, yet? Of course once you have got all those points covered there’s still plenty more to see to until the main event.
