Couples planning California weddings have a bit of an advantage when it comes to budgeting for their event's décor since the state is so full of amazing locations that it almost seems over the top to add much in the way of decorating. California is divided roughly into 3 parts: Northern, Central, and Southern. Each area has its own charm and there are special spots in each of them that are perfect for weddings.

Northern California is well known for the stunning Redwood trees that have grown there for centuries. San Francisco is the anchoring city for the area and the state capital, Sacramento, is also nearby. Grace Cathedral in San Francisco is a well known location for weddings with its traditional design and gorgeous windows. The world famous wine country of California is also found here and many a couple has tied the knot framed by a sunset in the midst of the rolling vineyards of Napa Valley. Also found in the Northern/Central part of the state is Yosemite National Park, with its scenic beauty and lovely hotel.

Central California weddings are usually held in the beach towns though there is some wine country found here as well. San Luis Obispo is a favorite area, with the Sycamore Mineral Springs a well known local treasure. The beach here is exquisite and there are a number of waterfront resorts that offer extensive wedding packages. Santa Barbara is also found in the Central/Southern part of the state and offers mountain top weddings, several beautiful churches, beach weddings and the world renowned Santa Barbara Mission.

Southern California features Los Angeles, with its downtown skyline and world class hotels. The Kyoto Hotel & Gardens is a local treasure, as well as the Sherwood Country Club. San Diego is also a frequent choice for California weddings. The San Diego Zoo has some fantastic spots for a ceremony and the beautiful beachfront Hotel del Coronado is found here. A bit inland is Palm Springs with its legendary resorts and stunning desert views.

Whether you're looking for natural beauty outdoors or man made beauty indoors, there are many options when it comes to getting married in California. Spend a bit of time researching and make sure to plan for plenty of help from nature when it comes to decorating.
