Why are Brides Returning to Muskoka Resort?

The Inn At The Falls has been a Muskoka landmark for over one hundred years. Majestically situated atop a hill overlooking the Muskoka River and falls, this charming Victorian inn has long been a favourite Muskoka wedding venue for brides and grooms due to its charm and picturesque setting. This year, the management of The Inn At The Falls is doing something that is extremely unique. They are asking anyone who in past years was married at The Inn At The Falls to participate in the creation of a “Bridal Path”.

The bridal path to be built at The Inn At The Falls will wind around the inn’s pool area, a beautiful spot overlooking the falls where many bridal party photographs are taken. The path will consist of cement stones, each inscribed with the names and wedding dates of past brides and grooms. From April 17 until May 4, 2009, couples are invited to return to the inn to write their names and wedding anniversary date in a cement stone. The stone will then be placed along the bridal path. In doing so, couples will be a part of something that they can share with future generations. Each personalized stone in the walkway will add to the rich history of the Inn. In the years to come, brides will be able to read about the other couples that have gone before them, as they walk along our Bridal Path.

The Inn At The Falls is steeped in history - the main inn building was built back in the 1870’s as an estate home – and in creating the Bridal Path walkway, the Inn has found a way to acknowledge their rich past. Over the years, there have been many weddings held at the inn and creating the Bridal Path is very special way to invite back all the couples who had been married here so that they can commemorate their special day in stone. In returning to the Inn At The Falls, couples will have the opportunity to relive fond memories and perhaps meet with other couples who were married at the inn as well.
