5 Simple Steps To Kids Soccer DrillsSubmitted by Andre Botelho Tue, 16 Feb 2010
You might disagree, but hear me out on this. There is a huge difference in the techniques adopted in kids soccer drills to train kids in comparison to those who are in high school or college. It is necessary as the young players are somewhat aware of their likes and dislikes, whereas kids just begin to get a hang of many new things.
Still, in soccer drills for kids, there are a variety of means for coaching transforming budding players into champions. Always remember that kids would love to play the game only for so long as it interests them. If their level of interest is not maintained, they feel discouraged to play. They get under pressure to quit the sport. So persevere and don't push them too hard initially. Most of the kid's play the game because their parents want them to while others plays for sheer enjoyment. Praise and recognition does not fascinate kids in either of the case. In kids soccer drills, it's common for the soccer coaches to disregard this feature. They compel the kids to realize the goals set for them in terms of their stamina, skills, and attitude towards the game at all costs. This has a negative affect on kids in form of over-exhaustion and loss of confidence. In planning soccer drills for kids, it's normal for a new coach to feel somewhat troubled initially. This is because the kids in the team may not be disciplined. But, it's okay. The kids will surely realize the meaning of regularity and team-work, no matter how much time it takes. They will also know that to get the respect of their coach, they will have to respect others first. Here, it is critical that young players in youth soccer drills are made to understand the new system. This is because of the fact that they may not be aware of them and take time to learn them. Also, before introducing any changes in the team's structure, take their suggestions, views, and opinions before hand. This makes it easy for the kids to accept and follow the required changes. In the role of a coach, it makes sense that you help the kids develop some good traits as well. To attain his objective, you will have to monitor each kid individually. You should make sure that all boys spend ample time on the ground and that you praise them wherever due. In addition to this, make sure to reprimand those as well who create a ruckus and deviate from the set norms. This makes the players liable for their acts. Yet, be careful in doing so. Do not be cruel to the kid. He should not be mocked or made fun of. For instance you can reprimand the individual by a light penalty such as keeping him off a single session. Now, you should start acting upon these kids soccer drills. As you work on these regulations, you can learn even more by subscribing to our youth soccer coaching community.
