5 Super Tips to Plan a Successful NFL CookoutSubmitted by RickG2 Wed, 17 Jun 2009
Are you planning an NFL cookout or barbecue? These events can be the perfect way to enjoy NFL games with friends and family members. The fans of food and the fans of football can unite to enjoy the best of both worlds. However, it is important to follow some important guidelines when planning an NFL cookout, to maximize the chance that the event will be a success:
1. You probably cannot please all of the people--but you should try Unfortunately, you cannot please all of the people all of the time. However, by providing a variety of foods at the NFL cookout, you can make a valiant attempt at providing something for everyone. For instance, you could grill a vegetarian kebab for any vegetarians at the cookout. You could also grill some hot dogs for the children, while you prepare the rest of the meal. Additionally, get a "grill order" for those present at the cookout. I prefer medium-rare burgers. However, others enjoy meat ranging from fire engine-red to burnt-to-a-crisp. 2. Remember the appetizers Grilled foods are certainly worth the wait. However, to keep your NFL cookout attendees happy, make sure to include some appetizers. Sure, you can include some basic potato chips, veggies and dip, etc. However, for some more substantial choices, consider potato skins, buffalo wings, mini-pizzas, etc. Typically, you would prepare these foods in the oven. However, the grill is perfect for warming up the items and adding melted cheese. 3. Consider kebabs For those people at your NFL cookout who are health-conscious, you could prepare some kebabs. This is definitely one of the greatest grilled foods of all time. You can add a variety of meats, including beef, chicken, pork, or shrimp; as well as an array of veggies, such as onions, tomatoes, and green or red peppers. When preparing kebabs, try to make one-inch cubes of the meats and veggies. It is also important to marinate the kebabs for roughly 1-2 hours before grilling them. 4. Remember the vegetarians Include some dishes for any vegetarians attending the NFL cookout. That can include veggie burgers, veggie hot dogs, veggie kebabs, etc. When buying prepackaged veggie food from the supermarket, make sure to read the cooking instructions. For instance, you should not grill some vegetarian foods. 5. Drink to your NFL team's victory When selecting drinks, you cannot go wrong with the old standbys of sodas, iced tea, and beer. However, make sure to prepare beverages that will complement the season. For instance, if the weather is balmy, you might consider iced tea or iced coffee. However, for cookouts in late fall, you might provide the hot versions of those beverages. In addition, it is important to choose drinks that will also complement the food that you are serving. Combine foods and drinks to create a balance between the four taste buds. Cookouts and NFL games are special events. For your next NFL cookout, make sure to follow some guidelines, before your guests arrive sporting their nfl sports apparel. Make your cookout a fantastic blow-out! About the Author
