6 Top Tips for NFL Tailgate PartySubmitted by RickG2 Wed, 17 Jun 2009
Are you a party animal? Do you love NFL football? Most of us love parties, whether we are celebrating a birthday, a holiday, or winning a fantasy football season. An NFL tailgate party celebrates the best of both worlds. For pro football fans, it is the party before the party. A tailgate party is a great way to get everyone energized before the game, while simultaneously allowing them to enjoy tasty food and spend some quality time with family and friends. If you are planning an NFL tailgate party, here are some tips before you head out to the stadium with your hamburgers, potato salad, and Discount NFL Merchandise:
1. Be prepared One of the keys to having a successful NFL tailgate party is to be prepared. That means doing enough preparation, which begins with having the right supplies. Here are some of the most important items that you will need: • Beverages • Bottle opener • Card tables • Chairs • Cooler (with wheels) • Cups • Food • Grill and grilling gear • Napkins • Night gear (i.e. flashlights, blankets, etc.) • Plates • Radio (or portable TV) • Silverware • Tablecloths • Team merchandise (i.e. banners, flags, apron, etc.) 2. Start setting up early Make sure to set-up the tailgate party 2-3 hours before it starts. Designate a particular area for grilling, and use a special table as a serving table. Also, make sure to bring a huge cooler full of ice (and beverages). 3. Sit in style You can enjoy a tailgate party without literally sitting behind your pickup truck's tailgate. For instance, you could load up some chairs and even a sofa from your home, to allow you to sit in style at the tailgate party. Make sure to cover your furniture with NFL team blankets, to safeguard the fabric. 4. Set up a team banner station In addition to brining official NFL banners, you could also set up a table so the tailgate party participants can make their own NFL banners. Supplies that you should bring include glue, stickers, glitter, and paints. This activity will give everyone a chance to create his or her own Mona Lisa of NFL team banners! 5. Have a scavenger hunt Prior to the party, create a list of items that people must find, or actions that they must complete while they are at the NFL tailgate party. This could include giving high-fives to people of the opposite gender, finding a truck with an NFL license plate cover, biting a stranger's hamburger, drinking a whole cup of soda with one gulp, and finding footballs. 6. Have a "Number one fan" contest Prior to the NFL tailgate party, inform everyone invited that there will be a "Number one fan" contest, to determine who has the best game day costume. The participants can use hats, face paint, NFL replica jerseys, NFL hard hats and anything else that they can imagine. For prizes, choose NFL team products, such as NFL Bobble-Heads, NFL mini replica helmets, NFL cups, etc. About the Author
