Airsoft pistols are not designed to be kids' toys but they are suitable for adults who are still fascinated with this type of toys. They are available in the normal 9mm handgun style and also the old revolver style. Airsoft guns are capable of firing BBs at a speed up to 450 feet per second. Remember to use eye protection when you are handling them because you could go blind if you get hit in the eye. There are many types of airsoft pistols available on the market right now and this includes Glock, Beretta and the others.

There is a separate magazine for BBs for every airsoft pistol. It is usually stored in the handgrip of the pistol. Each clip holds different amount of BBs depending on the type of pistols. However, usually you can load 30 rounds in your clip which is enough for some shooting without reloading. However, this is not applicable if you own a Glock 18C full auto AEG pistol where 30 round BB clip can be emptied in few seconds.

There are three types of airsoft pistols which include spring, gas and electric powered pistols. For each shot, the spring ones need to be cocked. On the other hand, the electric ones can be used without reloading until you run out of BBs. They are usually very reliable and sometimes come with blowback feature. For the gas pistols, there are blowback replicas which simulate a realistic firing action. This happens when the topslide is forced by some of the gas to fly backwards when fired.

Because airsoft pistols look real, all new ones are manufactured with a red or orange mark on the gun's muzzle. Never carry them with you in public places so that you do not cause unnecessary panic. Some states or countries do not allow their residents possessing airsoft pistols so check with your state or national law before purchasing one!
