How to get tickets to Wimbledon 2009

Everyday there will be approximately 7,000 tickets for sale at the gates including around 500 tickets for The main courts 1 and 2 and also Center court plus around 6,500 - 7,000 general admission tickets. These estimated ticket sales do not reflect the ticket sales on the last 4 days of the tournament as the sales for these days will differ. General admission tickets allow a person access to standing and unreserved seats on courts 3 - 19.

The main thing i stress with purchasing tickets at the gate is you MUST be patient and be prepared to wait a long time as lines can become very long as the event organisers do reserve thousands of tickets for sale to the public via the main gates. Another thing you must realise is that tickets purchased from the main gates are for sale on a cash only basis and no other means of payment will be accepted, therefore you must visit a cashpoint or make sure you have enough money in pounds sterling for when you reach the gate to avoid dissapointement.

reserved tickets for courts 1,2 & center court cost approximately £25 - £85
General admission tickets cost approximately £5 - £20

the reason for the above prices being so varied is that all ticket prices are dependand on time and what tennis is being played on any one day.

The tickets are sold on a first come first serve basis and i remind you that it is also a CASH ONLY basis!

When waiting for general admission tickets my advise is to arrive in the queue around 3 hours before the gates open and for reserved main court tickets I advise that you wait overnight. The queuing experience is usually regarded as an enjoyable part of wimbledon by most people as it gives many a chance to interact and chat with other people with the same love for tennis. i myself do quite find the queue an enjoyable part believe it or not for that exact reason, its always nice to be surrounded by people passionate about the same things as you are because it makes for such great conversation and debates ;)

Also i would like to add that you do not have to be a tennis lover like myself to really enjoy everything that wimbledon has to offer, it really is just a nice day out, maybe you are a tourist visiting london, Perfect, wimbledon would be a nice addition to your trip and with it being such a prestigious event well renowned throughout the world its something that you can take home with you and tell all your freinds and family for years to come.
