UFC For Beginners

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is an American promotion company for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA). It makes several events globally and holds most of the fighters, which are on the top ranks, all over the world. It also has five weight divisions and soon will be going to seven weights next year.
In addition, the UFC was inspired by tournaments in Brazil named Vale Tudo, and this game rooted in the combat sport in an ancient Olympic game called Pankration in 640BC. The foremost competition of this sport was held in Denver, Colorado in the year 1993.

In the early 1990s, this sport used the tagline "there are no rules", but it really has limited rules that fighters need to follow, such as no eye gouging and no biting. However, because of the natural violent approach of this game, it promptly drew the attention of authorities in the United States.

Some senator called it as "human cock fight" and send letters to all the governors of the fifty states in the U.S. asking them to outlaw the game. There are 36 states passed laws to prohibit no-holds-barred fighting.

Furthermore, the five different weight divisions of this game are Lightweight. They weigh over 145 pounds to 155 pounds, Welterweight for over 155 pounds to 170 pounds, Middleweight that weighs over 170 pounds to 185 pounds, Light Heavyweight for over 185 pounds to 205 pounds and Heavyweight that weighs over 205 pounds to 265 pounds.

The rules of UFC also depend on the duration of the bout. In non-championship bouts, fighters will only battle for three rounds, while in championship bouts, they need to fight for five rounds. Each round will consume five minutes and a one minute period for them to rest that occur between every round.

In the beginner fighters, there are 31 fouls included that they need not to do when they are in the ring, such as pulling of hair, biting, head butting, eye gouging in any manner, fish hooking, manipulation of small joint, hitting on the back of the head or spine, twisting, pinching and clawing the flesh, grabbing the clavicle, holding the fence or the ropes, attacking the contender during the break or if he is under the care of the referee, intervention by the corner, throwing of towel during the competition, spitting to a contender and more others that are not allowed to do so in their fight. That is why the tagline "there are no rules" in this game is not applicable at all.

They can win by submission by verbal tap out or physical tap out, decision through the scorecards that include majority decision, split decision and unanimous decision. In addition, it also includes technical decision, technical draw, no contest, forfeit and disqualification. Also, if both fighters reach a draw and do not work to advance finish or position, the referee may restart the round.
