FIFA World Cup 2006 - Who will win it?Submitted by norbert2000
The FIFA World Cup 2006 soccer competition promises to be one of the most unpredictable in recent memory, with several Teams capable of winning the tournament. Many will have Brasil, the current holders, down as favourites to take the Jules Rimet Trophy, but there will be serious competition from Home nation Germany, European rivals England & France, plus the impressive Argentina side. One thing is for sure, the FIFA World Cup 2006 will provide untold excitement.
Brasil definitely ooze class and confidence on the pitch, and have players of the highest skill, including Ronaldinho, Roberto Carlos & Ronaldo. However, they have never won the FIFA World Cup on European soil, and will not dominate as they may have done in a hotter climate. The conditions will undoubtably favour one of the European Nations. Germany, as the hosts are not the force they used to be in World Cup Soccer, but they have a tremendous knack of producing the goods when it really matters. Their squad may look a little short on talent, but their organisation and work ethic together with the fantastic home support they will receive, will probably see them progress to the latter stages of FIFA World Cup 2006. 1998 World Cup Winners France also have a very talented squad, and cannot be discounted. Any side that posesses Thierry henry & Zinedine Zidane must be respested. Reports of unrest in the French camp indicate that all has not been well as far as team morale goes, but if they rise to the occasion they can beat any team on the day. Possibly classed as outsiders by many for FIFA World Cup 2006 are England. They have amassed a very talented young squad, which will be well supported and should be respected. Their young forward Wayne Rooney will undoubtably be one of the stars of the tournament, and his goals may spur England to their second World Cup Finals victory. One thing is for sure, the FIFA World Cup in Germany will produce the highest calibre football on offer, and there will be many unexpected results. Don't be surprised if Italy, Holland, Spain and maybe someone unexpected like Mexico progress to the knockout stages. My prediction is any one from Brasil, Germany & England will take home the coveted FIFa trophy. About the Author
