Kettlebells are a great addition in your golf improvement training. Experts have found that the kettlebell cross training exercises done properly can result in improved stance, focus, and swing for a number of golfers. Add yards off the tee and an increased stamina to go from hole to hole results from using kettlebells in golf improvement training. The use of kettlebells in golf improvement training as well as in other activities such as power lifting, tennis improvement training and martial arts exercises among others have gained popularity over the past decade.
Kettlebells are traditional Russian cast iron weights that are shaped like cannonballs with top handles. These were popular in Russia where strongmen and weight lifters have been using these weight lifting tools to bulk up and train their muscles for centuries. These kettlebells are called girya in Russia and the Russian weight lifters are called gireviks or kettlebell men. It was about a decade ago when it was reintroduced to the American fitness and weight lifting world. Pavel Tsatsouline, a strength and flexibility coach, and Valery Fedorenko, a world champion and world record holder, were the ones who brought the weight lifting tool to the United States. Since then, this particular tool has taken the country by storm and has gained popularity among athletes and fitness enthusiasts.
In the sport of golf, kettlebells noted as one of the best ways to improve golf power and performance. The simplicity of kettlebell cross training in golf improvement training adds to the fitness tool’s appeal. Other exercise tools such as barbells, dumbells, medicine balls, and other strength and cardiovascular equipment just cannot equal the total body workout that lifting kettlebells can give. Golfers can develop broad shoulders, backs of steel, wirry arms, and strong legs and hips among other physical and muscular improvements when they do kettlebell cross training. All these result in better posture, dynamic flexibility, and an extremely powerful swing for golfers.
Even the mind is exercised in kettlebell cross training. The mind’s ability to focus is also one of the important aspects of any golf improvement training. Much like swing focus in golf, training using kettlebells also involve the same constant brain activity to execute the exercises. As the golfer does his kettlebell exercises, he trains his mind to focus on executing the necessary movements that mimic golf movements resulting in natural and instinctive movements in the golf course. The strong connection between mind and body that is established by doing kettlebell training for golf improvement translate to better mind and body coordination in any golf game. The blending of two skills, relaxation and tension, make for a coordinated movement and more effective swings guaranteed to be consistent from hole to hole.
For that perfect golf swing that stays perfect everytime, try training using kettlebells. It is guaranteed to improve your strength, agility, and mental focus. Not only does kettlebell training deliver benefits for golfers, it also provides the same benefits and more to most other athletes in other sports. It is absolutely one of the most convenient weight lifting tools around. It does not need electricity to run and it is easy enough to store. Read books, watch videos and learn to use the kettlebell to improve you game.
