Some Functional Tips For Increasing Driving Length

Submitted by veotis

Gaining more length with the driver is one of the top priorities of almost all golfers. Although there are many other areas of the game that truly deserve more attention, this has to be one of the most fulfilling. Since every player has a different style of play, not every method designed to gain distance is guaranteed to work. What may work for one golfer will actually cause problems for another golfer. Something different will have to be attempted with the hopes that a poor habit hasn't formed from the previous technique.

Practicing is the obvious initial measure to increasing your driving distance. It is a matter of determining the right training technique suited for your style of play. Most golfers will acquire the appropriate method for them with some experimentation. While some will blame the driver itself, the most common perpetrator is normally the person swinging the club. Only after an expensive driver is bought does reality set in. Small changes in the way you play will have more of an impact than even a tailor-made driver. An expensive, custom-built driver is in all likelihood not in the budget of the part time golfer anyways.

An uncomplicated warm up before you commence a round is unquestionably one of the best things you can do to improve your driving distance. Some light calisthenics along with some easy stretching will condition your body and brain for the game ahead. If time allows, make your way over to the driving range to hit some balls. This is a very important process in getting prepared for your approaching round. The driving range is an outstanding place to get the bugs worked out of your swing. It'll loosen up your swing muscles the right way and you'll feel a lot more assured when you step on the first tee. With the butterflies gone, you're more likely to strike the ball more solid.

Loosening up properly and using the driving range before playing is one of the most beneficial things you can do to improve your game. The driving range is just as good for the head as it is for the body. Getting into a good swing rhythm will help you clear your head of all the clutter you've learned or been told about swing techniques. It is easy to lose track that golf is a game of feel. You can get a feel for your game with a short trip to the driving range before your round starts. That is why you'll see the more experienced players spending a good bit of time at the driving range obtaining their groove and clearing up their mind before they begin their round.

It's not rocket science when it comes to generating more length with your driver. The use of light exercises along with casual stretching and spending quality time at the driving range is the secret. Another thing to remember is to not just hit your driver while at the range, but to hit other clubs as well. This will support your overall game. If you adopt these pointers, you'll find yourself getting more length than you ever have.
